STANSW HSC Science Advantage Workshops have been held for many years,  presented by highly experienced science teachers with up to date knowledge and understanding of the HSC exam requirements and NESA expectations.

Join us for this intensive one day course covering the HSC Physics, Biology, Chemistry, EES, Investigating Science and Science Extension exams.

The various workshops throughout the day (in each HSC subject) will include the following :

- Answering long-answer questions

- Answering multiple choice questions (MCQ)

- Answering short-answer questions and

- Yellow Submarine : A think-tank style session where students will be unpacking the syllabus and writing their own questions.

MCQ and Short Answer
Students will be guided through exam techniques and strategies specific to how to answer multiple-choice and short answer questions in Biology/Chemistry/Earth & Environmental/ Investigating Science/Physics

Long Answer
At the same time as revising difficult content/common misconceptions/ common errors, students will participate in a workshop which guides them through specific strategies to assist them to un-pack/break-down long answer questions (5-9 marks), and learn how to plan and write responses specific to Biology/Chemistry/Earth & Environmental/ Investigating Science/Physics, in order to address the question requirements appropriately.

Yellow Submarine Think Tank
This workshop is all about delving deeper beneath the surface. Students will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with peers and under the guidance/direction of teacher facilitators, interact with the syllabus by connecting big ideas within and across the modules. They will then have the opportunity to unpack related inquiry questions and then to brainstorm possible exam questions that could be asked.
