This is a six hour BOSTES accredited course

This course is online and on-demand and can be completed in your own time. Course will open for Semester 2 and close on 14 December 2015.



The purpose of this course is to prepare you to be able produce an engaging contextualised item set that assesses a range of syllabus outcomes and is challenging for a range of abilities.


You will learn about:
•    The nature of assessment - as, of and for learning - includes a survey of school assessment practice.
•    Anatomy of a test item - the ins and outs test items and their psychometric analysis
•    Syllabus validity - A test item must assess syllabus outcomes
•    The stimulus – succinct, engaging and evocative



Participants will collaboratively write items in a wiki. They will peer-review each other’s item sets
